The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Passing the Salesforce Admin Exam
Want the easiest way to pass the Salesforce admin exam without turning exam prep into your second full-time job?
We hear ya!
While you could spend the next six months creating color-coded study schedules, making dozens of flash cards, searching the internet for practice questions, and wondering whether you’re studying the right things…
You absolutely do not have to.
There’s a smarter way, an easier way to pass the Salesforce admin exam, the Lazy Girl Way.
This is our Lazy Girl’s Guide to the easiest way to pass the Salesforce admin exam.
And before anyone comes for us – “lazy” does not mean doing nothing.
You still have to learn Salesforce. You still have to understand the material. And yes, you still have to take the exam yourself.
Lazy, in this case, means refusing to waste your limited time and brain power doing work that someone else has already figured out.
By the end of this post, you’ll know how to simplify your Salesforce admin exam prep, what deserves most of your study time, and which parts of the process you can happily take off your plate.
What’s the easiest way to pass the Salesforce admin exam?
The smartest (easiest) way to pass the Salesforce admin exam is to let someone else do the hard prep work for you and follow a structured course with done-for-you notes, cheat sheets, and practice quizzes, so all you have to do is show up and study.
Here’s the mindset shift we want you to make.
You don’t need to figure out how to study while you’re also trying to learn Salesforce.
When you’re already squeezing study sessions between work, kids, errands, laundry, dinner, and whatever Bravo show you’re currently emotionally invested in…you don’t need another job.
Instead, put your energy into the thing that actually matters: Learning Salesforce.
Let someone else organize the rest.
First, what do we mean by “lazy”?
Lazy girl exam prep eliminates unnecessary busywork so you can spend more of your limited study time actually learning Salesforce and practicing your new skills.
We’re not talking about cutting corners on learning the skills.
The exam will humble you if you try. It’s about eliminating wasted effort.
You can spend a lot of time “preparing to study” instead of actually studying.
You have to figure out:
- What to learn first.
- What to learn next.
- Which topics matter most.
- Which notes to take.
- How to organize those notes.
- What to condense into a cheat sheet.
- Where to find good practice questions.
- Whether those practice questions are current.
- How much time to spend on each topic.
- When you’re actually ready to schedule and take the exam.
None of that is learning — it’s “getting ready to learn”.
The lazy-girl move is to delete all of it and spend your energy only on the part that matters: actually learning the material.
Work smarter, not harder. That’s the whole philosophy.
How to study for the Salesforce admin exam without wasting time
Here are our official Lazy Girl Rules
Rule #1: Don’t spend hours making your own study notes
Could you watch every lesson, stop every few minutes, write everything down, organize it, highlight it, turn it into flashcards, and create your own cheat sheets?
Of course.
But why?
Your goal isn’t to win an award for Most Beautiful Salesforce Notebook.
Your goal is to understand Salesforce well enough to use it and pass the exam.
If accurate, organized notes and cheat sheets already exist, use them.
Then spend the time you saved reviewing concepts, practicing inside Salesforce, and figuring out why an answer is correct.
That’s the work that actually moves you forward.
Rule #2: Don’t figure out the learning order yourself
One of the biggest traps for Salesforce beginners is having access to too much information.
You find Trailhead modules. Then a YouTube video. Then someone on Reddit recommends something else. Then LinkedIn tells you that you absolutely must learn another topic before you’re employable.
Three hours later, you have 27 tabs open and somehow feel less prepared.
Sound familiar?
You don’t need more resources.
You need a clear Salesforce Admin study plan that tells you what to learn and in what order.
Follow the path. Learn the concept. Practice it. Move on.
Rule #3: Don’t study every exam topic section equally
This is where our Lazy Girl strategy gets extra strategic.
Not every section of the Salesforce Platform Administrator exam carries the same weight.
Currently, four areas account for 62% of the exam:
- Configuration & Setup — 15%
- Object Manager & Lightning App Builder — 15%
- Data & Analytics Management — 17%
- Automation — 15%
You should concentrate a good amount of your study time mastering these four sections to increase the number of questions you get right on the exam.
That doesn’t mean you can ignore everything else. You still need to learn the skills in all 8 topic sections.
But it does mean your study schedule should reflect the weighting of the exam.
If one topic represents 17% of the exam and another represents 8%, giving both exactly the same amount of study time probably isn’t your smartest move.
Study strategically.
Very Lazy Girl. Very efficient. We love to see it.
Rule #4: Don’t stay stuck for three days
You know what’s incredibly inefficient?
Getting confused about one Salesforce concept on Tuesday and still trying to figure it out alone on Friday.
Sometimes you need to wrestle with a concept for a little while. That’s part of learning.
But sometimes you just need someone to explain it differently.
This is where access to a mentor, instructor, or supportive community can save you so much time.
Ask the question.
Get the clarification.
Move forward.
You don’t get bonus points on the certification exam for struggling alone, so don’t do it.
Rule #5: Don’t confuse passing the exam with being ready for a Salesforce career
It’s important to remember –
Passing the Salesforce Admin exam is a milestone. It isn’t the entire journey.
You also want to understand how Salesforce works well enough to apply what you’ve learned.
That’s why hands-on practice matters.
Instead of only memorizing terminology and practice-test answers, spend time actually working inside Salesforce and applying the concepts you’re studying.
And if the idea of building a Salesforce project makes you want to close your laptop and pretend you never heard the word “CRM,” we’ve got you.
Building a portfolio project sounds intimidating, but it’s a lot easier when someone walks you through it step-by-step instead of leaving you to figure it out solo.
The Ultimate Lazy Girl Move: Let us do it for you
If the lazy-girl philosophy is “let someone else do the hard prep work,” then the ultimate lazy-girl move is a course where all of it is done for you. That’s exactly why we created Admin Accelerator.
We saw how much energy beginners were wasting trying to assemble their own Salesforce education from dozens of different resources.
So we did the tedious part for you.

- How do I practice this?
- Am I even doing this right?
Your job? Show up and pay attention. That’s genuinely it. We did the hard, tedious prep work already, so you get to be the smart kind of lazy — focused entirely on learning, with zero energy wasted on setup.
